一般来说，“capacity”可以译为“容量”、“装机容量”、“装机量”等这里面有一点需要注意，有时候generating capacity也表示发电量，进而省略后也会用capacity表示，这种情况下就需要译者自行进行判断。

因此，我们对这个词常见的疑问就是，有时候表示什么时候表示“容量或装机容量”，什么时候表示“发电量”首先，我们先看看这两者的含义：装机容量1.发电装机容量，指正式安装完毕投入使用的发电设备能力包括正常运转容量、事故备用容量和检修备用容量。

计算单位是千瓦2.装机容量，全称“发电厂装机容量”，亦称“电站容量”指火电厂或水电站中所装有的全部汽轮或水力发电机组额定功率的总和是表征一座火电厂或水电站建设规模和电力生产能力的主要指标之一单位为千瓦（kW）、兆瓦（MW）、吉瓦（GW）等。

发电量发电量是指发电机进行能量转换产出的电能数量发电量的计量单位为“千瓦时”从上述两个定义中，我们可以看出，“发电容量”指的是一种能力，单位为千瓦；而“发电量”则是数量，单位为千瓦时所以，除了根据句义和上下文，我们在判断时还可以采用一个小方法，根据单位判断。

装机量的单位一般是MW、GW等；而常见发电量的单位为KWh/ TWh我们下面看几个例子：例1：Taishan Nuclear Power Station is expected to be the world’s largest nuclear power plant when it starts commercial operations in December 2013. With an
