followers,five to stay?当你刚开始做网络直播带货时，有段时间你卖不出去东西？你当时的粉丝也很少，直播间里有时只有五个人D: five or four.四五个吧W: Yeah ,did you see a point of making that effort？and why did you carry on？what made you carry on?。

你觉得那时的努力有意义吗?你为什么要坚持？是什么让你坚持？I wasn’t myself at the beginning when I was trying to sell goods to viewers .I belittled myself.I thought that was meaningless. Because I used to be a teacher ,an English teacher for eight years .So I defined myself as someone who spreads the knowledge, and what ambition, what mission, they should make for the future. I am not the person to yell in front of screen. that wasn’s something a teacher should do.

最早我试着向屏幕前的观众推销商品时，我都快不是我自己了，我瞧不起我自己.我认为那时毫无意义的因为我曾经是一名老师，教了八年英语，所以，我将自己定义为：一个传道受业解惑、拥有塑造未来抱负和使命的人，一个教导学生成就未来的人，而不应该是在屏幕前大喊大叫的人。

那不是一个教师应该做的事情W: You don’t take pride in what you had to do你没有从当时做的事情里找到骄傲与认同D: I didn’t find the turning point, even though the world was changing for me ，collapsed and reconstructed again. I didn’t realize that I was too obsessed with my past. Until one day I learned a story behind a farm product from Gansu province. A small county .Young people go to big cities for better jobs , the elderly ,lack of care ,and they still need to work in a fields .so I suddenly realized that, yeah, that was me ,come on. You were from a certain kind of village just like that ,a small county just like that ,You tried hard.You learned a lot .and now you have the chance to do the right thing, why are you hesitating for a long time , so I suddenly realized that I cannot be obsessed with my past as a teacher. I do enjoy it. But when you have no choice ,make your current choice correct.。

我没有找到那个转折点，即使当时我的世界正在遭受巨变它崩溃并重建我也没有意识到那些，我太执迷于自己的过往了直到有一天我了解了，一个甘肃的农产品背后的故事一个小村庄，年轻人为了更好的工作，远赴大城市老人在家缺乏照料，却依然要靠农田里的工作维持生计。

于是，我突然意识到，那就是我啊！没错你也一样，来自某个无名的小村庄前往大城市打拼，你十分努力，你学有所成现在你有机会做正确的事情为什么还要犹豫内耗这么久？因此，我突然意识到我不能再沉迷于我作为一名教师的过往。

虽然我曾经很享受其中，但当你别无选择时，你要把当下的选择，做成正确的事情W: So when you were making that transformation what was the most difficult thing for you?

所以，当从英语老师转型为带货主播时，对你来说最困难的点是什么？D: “How do I define myself？”yeah ,how I define myself is the major key for my work, because who do you think you are and what do you think you are, I think this is the two major questions everybody should consider。

“如何定义自己”，是的，因为我如何定义自己决定了我如何定义这份工作“你认为自己是谁”和“你认为自己是什么”？我认为这两个问题对每一个人都是关键的，应该自己考虑W: Yeah,But now how would you describe yourself?if you were to use just one word to identify what you’re doing right now,would it be a teacher, a influencer,an e-commerce salesperson or something else ?what would it be?。

但现在你会如何描述你自己呢？如果你只能用一个词来描述你现在正在做的事情，你认为你是一位老师，一个影响者（“网红”通俗翻译为influencer），一名电商销售还是其他什么呢？会是哪一个？D: I was an English teacher,but now,to be honest, I am a promoter,but I try to be an influencer in the future.that’s totally different. I don’t think I’m an influencer currently ,not yet . Cause if you want to be an influencer, you need to pay too much attention to what you are trying to spread ，cause if people adore you people will learn to be you.

我曾经是一名英语老师，但现在说实话，我就是一名售货员，但未来我会常识成为一个影响者网红和影响者是完全不同的我不认为我现在是一个有影响力的人还不是，因为如果你想成为一个有影响力的人，你需要非常留心，关注自己正在传播的内容，因为如果人们崇拜你，他们会以你为榜样。

W: But an influencer is what exactly a lot of follower consider you to be,because they think that you create a different vibe In your live streaming sessions. and you get a lot of messages across .Not just the products themselves but also there’s a sense of complexity ,sophistication , and the depths in the meaning.

D：I tried to convey something that was positive,energetic.We face challanges in life,but we cannot be upset all the time.I read feedback from the internet that people with very serious mental disease watched our live stream studio.And after months,half an hour ,or a whole year,they recovered.Sometimes we may face that kind of challenge too.In life ,we worry.You need a reason.Some people can find this reason on their own way,but still a lot of people they may need to be kindly reminded and be repeatedly encouraged.

我试图传递一些积极的正能量的信息我们在生活会遇到挑战,但我们不能总是消极应对我从网上看到一些反馈,说一些患有严重心理问题的人看我们的直播几个月、半年或者一整年后，他们变得好起来了有时我们也可能在生活中经历同样的挑战，生活中，我们会焦虑,你需要一个活着的理由。

有些人可以用自己的方式找到这个理由，但仍有很多人可能需要被善意地提醒，反复地鼓励W:Are you being more careful than when you started?你现在比刚开始直播的时候更加小心谨慎了吗？

D: Definitely. Social media......Sometimes your language and your expression can be misunderstood,very easily misunderstood the internet.

当然社交媒体，有时你的语言和表达方式可能会被误解，在互联网上很容易这样W:Especially since now you have so many followers......特别是当你现在拥有了这么多粉丝。

D:Especially......Every word you said,every sentence you type can be interpreted ,you konw.And definitely, we have not the second chance.

是的，尤其是......你说的每一个字,打的每一句话，都会被解读，真的，我们没有第二次机会W:What are some of the qualifications that you think are important for your peers?。

你认为对你的同行来说有哪些资质是很重要的？D:Well,we are not sellers.We get attention.Very much attention.When you have people’s attention,you need to cherish the time they spent with you.What kind of values,What kind of knowledge,what you are trying to spread.

我们不仅仅是卖东西的人我们获得了很多关注，非常多的关注，当你拥有人们的关注时，你不仅需要珍惜他们花在你身上的时间，对于自己要传达的是什么样的价值，什么样的知识，更要时刻保持警觉W:What more does it take to become an influences?。

成为一个有影响力的人还需要做些什么？D: You need to achieve something.I haven’t.你需要取得某些实实在在的成就，但我还没有W:Such as?比如说？D:Such as......Like I define myself as “a man from the village” and I try to help the farmers the low income class, which is highly related to the land. I can help farmers by introducing or selling agricultural products.But we’ve just started. This is only the beginning.。

我对自己的定位是一个从农村走出来的人，我想试着帮助农民和低收入群体，他们与土地息息相关我可以通过推销农产品来帮助农民，但我们的工作才刚刚开始W:So,I want to ask you this, Yuhui.You responsibility of helping farmers.......Is this your way of staying connected to your roots?Are you trying to give back something to the land where you grew up？。

是的，我想问你宇辉，你似乎将助农视为己任这是你与自己的根链接的方式吗？你是想要回馈你所成长的那片土地吗？D: You know,I grew up in a rural village .And I spent my previous 18 years in that village.So, I know the life ,I know they work really hard to get very poor income .so ,it’s not all about the selling things. Sometimes the consumers and the providers of agricultural products, they have no simultaneous information exchange. You need to make it balanced.You need to make the profit ,more profit into the farmer.When people need to buy something , people want cheaper price, but to be honest the cheaper price always means….。

我在一个偏远农村长大，我人生的前18年都在那个村子里度过，因此我了解农村的生活，我知道人们劳作及其辛苦，但还是收入很低因此（我的工作）不仅仅是要把东西卖出去，有时候农产品的消费者和供应方之间，没有同步的信息交流，你需要让他们信息同步已达到平衡。

从而让农民获得收益，很多的收益当人们需要买东西的时候，他们想要更便宜的价格，但说实话，更便宜的价格就通常意味着......W: Bad quality？质量欠佳？D: I’m trying to use another word ,but yes. If we want lower price for agricultural products all the time, those who have no right to speak for themselves......they will suffer the most

我本想换一种说话......但确实如此.如果我们一直想用更便宜的价格购买农产品的话，那些无法为自己发声的人，将遭受最大的损失W: What do you envision to be the future of the e-commerce industry?。

你对电商行业的未来有什么愿景？D: I don’t know, to be honest. I’m not a business leader, I’m just a lucky young person.But in my opinion ,e-commerce is just a different way ,a different approach. You need to improve the quality .You need to improve the industry standards. you need to build the whole line to sell things at proper price , because the business industry, they still need profit to make improvements to pay the workers.

我不知道，说实话我不是商业领袖，我只是一个幸运的年轻人，但在我看来，电商只是再用一种不同的方式，不同的方法来进行商品交易你需要提升质量，需要提高行业标准，建立一条完整的生产线，以合理的价格销售商品因为从产业的角度，公司仍然需要收益，才能不断改进升级，保障行业劳动者的收入。

W: But then you found a way to associate or to transfer what you did in the past , how do you interpret your own success?

所以你在过去和现在的工作之间，还是找到了一种过渡或自洽的方式，你怎么看待自己现在的成功？D: First ,how do you define “success”, if you define yourself as a successful person, you need to achieve something ,which can be beneficial to yourself and to others ,I am not successful because who I am ,I am lucky for who I am and what I am .

首先，你该如何定义“成功”？如果你把自己定义为一个成功人士，你需要达到某些成就，这些成就不仅于自己有利，更要能够帮助他人，我不因我现在状态感到成功，我为我现在的状态和工作内容感到幸运W: Your rise in popularity......Did you see this coming?。

你几乎是一夜成名，之前有过的预设吗？D: We were like walking in a total darkness.With no hint,with no hope,with no reinforcement.with no direction.At the beginning,my introduction like 10% was about the product.Other the that ,I told something about literature,geography,history,poetry,which they didn’t care. haha.

我们曾经在一片黑暗中禹禹前行，没有提示，没有希望，没有增援,也没有方向刚开始，我的直播间只有大概一成的内容是关于产品的.除此之外，我讲述的内容大都是文学、地理、历史、诗歌,但网友们不在乎，哈哈W: Your audience didn’t care?。

观众也不在乎吗？D: At that time,nobody cared,Until one day, last june,yeah.June 9th,That morning .Magically.Just overnight,thousands of people flooded in.And they seem to be interested about my introdutions about Shakespeare.I was reading Shakespeare’poem.sonnet.”Shall I compare thee to sunmmer’s day?Thou art more......”They were interested.Ididn’t know the reason why.

当时，没有人在乎，但就在那一天，去年六月,6月9日那天早上，毫无预兆一夜之间，成千上万的网友突然涌进直播间他们似乎对我的介绍很感兴趣，我当时正在讲莎士比亚当时我正在读一首莎士比亚的诗十四行诗“我可否将你比作夏日,你可比夏日。

”网友们兴致勃勃我不知道为什么W:And that was your magic moment?那就是你的奇迹时刻？D：Totally magic moment.For no reason.Icannot figure out the reason until now.So,I can say i’m luck.

绝对的奇迹时刻，没有任何理由直到现在我也搞不清楚这是为什么所以我说，我只是幸运W: You keep saying you’re the lucky people,but then for some you seem to be the gifted person,because there are so many people who like you......。

你一直说你是个幸运的人，但许多人认为你很有天赋，因为有很多人喜欢你D: I’m not gifted.我没有天赋W: You English speaking and uesd to be a teacher .Did you take a lot of effort to look effortless?。

你会说英语,曾经是一名老师你是不是花了很多力气才看起来毫不费力?D:Idon’t think I am gifted.No, I’m not talented.I started to learn English in my junior high.At that time,I cannot spell the 26 letters in alphabet.I even made mistakes about them.So I was very angry with myself with too much frustration.I tried to memorize the words,.I tried to writen them down on my hand,you know,when I walk on the way,I see and I memorize,I try to repeat,repeat,repeat all the time.Elephants,Elephants,Elephants,restaurant, restaurant......That was the way I chose.So do you still think I’m talented or gifted?。

我不认为我是个有天赋的人，不认为，我就是没有天赋我从初中才开始学英语，那是我甚至不知道怎么拼写那26个字母表中的字母我连最基本的字母都会写错,所以那时对自己很生气，很沮丧我尝试着背单词，我试着把它们写在手上，每当我走路的时候，我就看着并熟记，一遍遍重复,一直重复。

大象，大象，大象，餐馆，餐馆......那就是我的方式,所以你还以为我有天赋吗？W: You turn down many better paid job offers,why did you do that?

你拒绝了很多薪水更高的工作邀请，为什么这么做？D: Idon’t need them,Ididn’t need them.This is my first reacion to the offer.Yeah,very highly paid.I mean ,I have a clear intuition that if I get too much,I need to work too much.Imay need to persuade people to buy too many things,that they don’t need.Well,this is definitely against to my values,which is wrong to me.I cannot convince myself to do that.Very simple reason.And also there are many companions who I like working with here.

我不需要它们，我不需要这是我对这些工作邀约的第一反应,是的，薪水很高我有一个明确的直觉，如果我得到太多，我就得进行更多工作，随之而来的是我可能需要说服人们买太多东西，他们不需要的东西这绝对违背了我的价值观，这对我来说是错误的。

我无法说服自己那样做原因很简单以及我还有很多我喜欢的同伴，他们也在这里工作W: Does your current job make you happy?你现在的工作让你快乐吗？D: A part of ，yet。

I cannot say the whole thing, no. I don’t enjoy selling people things honestly .部分来看，是肯定的但我不能说方方面面皆是如此。

坦白讲，我不喜欢向别人推销东西，W: Still一直？D:stilI I cannot enjoy people buy too many things just because they love me.

一直,是的，我无法享受人们过量购买，仅仅是出于对我的喜爱W: you consider that a bad thing？你认为这是件坏事吗？D: that is definitely vicious.I cannot take merits from that process.Buying things necessary makes you life good.But buying too many things which you don’t need,sucks.。

这对他们自身而言肯定是不好的我不能就这种事情引以为豪购买必需品可以让你的生活变得美好但是买太多根本不需要的东西，太糟了W:The value you mentioned, once you could exert a certain influence on people and to really promote your values......but then what are some of the values that you hold dear to, when you are trying to promote to you followers?。

你提到你的价值观，你认为应该利用自己的影响，去提倡好的价值观那么你说珍视的价值观是什么呢？你希望想粉丝们传递怎样的观点？D: My values mainly come from my education ,and also a major part from my family,from my parents.First ,you need to have a correct attitude towards your life,like money is not the major thing or money is not the first and the most important thing in you life .But, telling people these points is not easy, to be honest.。

我的价值观主要来源于我的教育，这也是我从家人，父母身上得到的最重要的东西首先，你需要对自己的生活有一个正确的态度,钱没有那么重要，或者说金钱不是你生命中最重要的事情但是告诉人们这个观点，并不容易W: It is becoming increasingly difficult,right?Because people now are enjoying greater material affluence and then they tend to live a fast-paced life.It takes them a lot of effort to really slow down.

而且越来越困难，没错吧？因为人们现在受到更大的物质影响并享受其中，往往过着快节奏的生活，他们需要付出很多努力才能真正慢下来D:Yeah,I mean ,enough material support is beneficial to your life,I’ll admit,for everybody.But you know ,if you want to be really rich ,people worried.When you do want something very much,It makes you unhappy，makes you hesitate,and makes you make really bad choice for your life.So this is the first thing,Imean ,money is good,but you still need to think clear what do you want for you life?People are too busy to read a book,to enjoy the afternoon just with the companion of several books.So they need to manage their life.。

足够的物质支持对你的生活有意，我承认对所有人来说都是如此但一旦人们想变得特别富有，他们就会发愁当你确实非常想要一些东西时，这个念头会让你不开心，它让你犹豫不决，让你对你的生活做出非常糟糕的选择这是我的第一个观点。

钱是好的，但首先你还需要想清楚，你最想要的是什么？人们天天忙的无暇阅读,无暇与几本书为伴，享受一个悠闲的午后，所以他们需要一点点生活管理，W:Yeah, you just talked about reading books,literature,and that really has shaped you in a great way.Do you still take pleasure in reading,now that your schedule is packed with traveling?

你刚刚谈到读书,文学在很大程度上塑造了你你现在还能从阅读中获得愉悦吗？鉴于你现在的行程排的满满当当D: Definitely,Yeah,I enjoy reading .肯定的，我很享受阅读W: Do you still find peace in reading ?。

你还能在阅读中获得平静吗？D:Yeah,I should this can be my only way to find peace for my life currently.Reading books constructs a bridge between you and other people,you know.So books make my life rich。

So last year,I tried to introduce a good book to others,which is called ‘The last quarter of the Moon’.I have only some 80 or 70 years for this life,The continents,The stages.But I can experience them,I can feel them from the books.And also,sometimes books can give you strength,give you confidence,give you ideas.Basically,I think it can give you most of the things you need,other than money,you know.。

当然，可以说这是我获得平静的唯一途径，就我现在的生活而言读书在你和他人之间架起一座桥梁书本充实了我的生活去年，我尝试把一本好书推荐给大家《额尔古纳河右岸》我这一生不过七八十年光景，弹指一挥间.不足以览遍大洲大洋，看尽人世繁华。

但我能从书中经历这一切,体验不同人生的感受有时书也能给你力量，给你信心，给你灵感想法我认为人可以从书籍中获得大部分需要的东西，除了钱W: Just like the English writer Somerset Maugham has said that,To acquire the habit of reading ,is to some extent,construct for yourself a refuge,from different miseries of life.

正如英国作家萨墨塞特 毛姆所说，在某种意义上，习得阅读的习惯，就相当于为自己建造了一个避难所，将各种生活的痛苦隔绝在外D:Yeah,we are all in the gutter,but some of us are looking at stars.Books are the stars.。

是的，我们都生活在阴沟中，但仍有人在仰望星空，书就是星星W: A lot of viewers like you ,because they see there’s a strong sense of cultural identity.What does the Chinese culture,Chinese identity signify to you?Why are they important for the younger generation that you’re interacting with?。

很多观众喜欢你，因为他们看到一种强烈的文化认同感.中华文化以及这种身份认同，对你而言意味着什么？为什么说这对互动的年轻一袋来说十分重要？D: I was born and raised in this country,With its tradition,With its cultural identity.I am a Chinese first.The books about Confucius.......They benefited me the most when I was a child.When I say open minded to others,I actually mean you need to accept any kind of feedbacks from the internet,from the environment you are in.

On the internet,you find most of things are superficial.Basically showing off,very stupid repetition of some kind of gestures.I don’t think it’s meaningful.Sometimes we are too sensitive......I don’t want to be criticized’’ I just want to be flattered’，’ I just want to be praised’ come on ,stupid.I am not perfect.After you realize that you are not perfect，you get confidence,to be honest.But you still need to stick to your own principles.You cannot be changed very easily.Now you are brave to face anything,say anything you want.

我在这片土地出生，长大，我受益于它的传统和文化认同，我首先是个中国人，与孔子相关的著作让我从小受益匪浅于是当我向他人谈到开放的心态时，我其实想说是一种豁达的观念，比如你需要平和看待来自互联网，或你所处环境给你的任何一种反馈。

你会发现网上大多数事情都流于表面，基本上都是炫耀，稀里糊涂地重复一些姿势和动作我不认为那有什么意义，有时我们过于敏感“我不想被批评”“我只想被厚爱”“我只想被称赞”,想什么呢我不是完美的人，当你认识到你的不完美时，说真的，你就能变得自信.但你仍需要坚持自己的原则，你不能被轻易改变。

现在你能够勇敢的面对任何事情了,随外界怎么说W: So,in a way you are becoming more mature of accepting criticism compared to when you were a teacher.

所以现在的你与当老师时相比在接受批评方面，变得更加成熟了D: Definitely. Yeah.You can still find very unfriendly feedback from the Internet for me.There was a people who typed ‘You are so ugly’’Why are you here?’for the whole night.。

确实是这样你还是可以在网上找到很多对我不友好的评论原来有个网友打字评论我丑，你为什么在这，这么两句话，他打字评论了一晚上W: Did that hurt your feelings?这会让你感到难过吗？。

D:At first,yeah.Well,I realized I wasn’t good looking at all,I mean.刚开始会的但怎么说呢，其实我确实也不那么好看吧W: But then once you joked on your live streaming show,some followers say that you resemble the Terracotta Warriors.。

但后来当你在你的直播间开玩笑，有些人说你长的像兵马俑D:I do like a Terracotta Warriors which is my privilege because.......Definitely. my privilege. That’s certainly a nice way......When you see me ,you see history,ok?I’m not care,you are not perfect too.Come on .You’re just being mean,I’m just being kind.。

我确实像个兵马俑，我为此感到骄傲真的，我很骄傲人们这样看待你当然很好当你看我时，就能看见历史我不在乎，你也并不完美，好吗?你选择你的刻薄，我坚持我就友善W: And you become free of all the biases.There’s a lot of discussion right now about the involution of this generation,which is characterized by fast paced lifestyle and fierce competition with your peers.And already at a very young age,people are tired and lost.What will be your advice to this generation,to this involution generation?。

同时你也从所有偏见中解脱出来现在有很多讨论关于这一代人的内卷，其特征体现在快节奏的生活方式和与同龄人的激流竞争而且在人们很年轻的时候,就已经感到疲惫和失落你对这一代人有什么建议对这身陷内卷的一代人？D: Well,first,you need to be focused.At most conditions,people are distracted by too many advice.by too many proposals,and by too many ideas.I don’t think we need to know too much.when you think too much,you act to little.So be focused,be simple-minded.

Second,you need to be determined,we don’t know what kind of future life holds for you.You can hesitate.You can doubt yourself.But please do not stop,ok?Continue to move.Don’t give up easily.

I don’t say never stop.Don’t give up easilyWe live in an age when everything changed so fast.Please do not predict the future,shape the future or make the future.Don’t expect yourself to make up correct choice all the time,but please follow the trend faster.。

And third I think,you do need to be open minded and collect you ideas,to put your words in your way,instead of listening to too many voice from around.Cause everybody is trying to tell you what you should do.But that is your life you need to make your own choice.

第一，你需要集中注意力在大多数情况下，人很都很容易分心被太多的建议，太多的想法，太多的观点而分心我认为我们不需要知道太多，想很多的时候，你就会做很少所以要专注，要天真一点第二，你需要下定决心，我们不知道未来的生活会怎样。

你可以犹豫徘徊，你可以自我怀疑，但请不要停在原地，好吗？继续前进，不要轻易放弃不是说永不停歇，但不要太轻易地放弃我们生活在一个变化很快的时代，请不要预测未来，塑造未来或改变未来,不要期待自己总会做出正确的选择，但是请紧随潮流变化.。

第三，我认为你需要思想开明总结你的想法，用你自己的方式来表达，而不是一味的听，太多来自周遭的声音因为每个人都在试图告诉你应该做什么，但这是你的生活，你需要做出自己的选择W: And men are constantly searching for meaning. There needs to be a sense of purpose to keep you going, to keep you strong,Have you found that purpose?。

人们总是不断地找寻意义，人需要一种目标感，以此获得动力，保持坚强你找到那个目标了吗？D: I think so.Make more people’s life better with my own ability,provides meaning to me. From my previous education, I think I’m a person with mission.The previous literati in history told you that if you are still poor ,please manage your life very well.But if you have the chance to do something benefit yourself and others.I still consider the chance, my fame or the social attention paid to me ,that was something the fate has chosen to give me and make me to do correct things instead of to make profit for myself .For a reason,come on .I am not so good looking, I’m not tall.Not handsome.Why that was me ?there’s gotten be a reason, why I was the chosen one?。

我想是的让更多人的生活变得更好，以我自己的能力，赋予我意义因为我以前受到的教育，我应该成为一个肩负责任的人过往的文人和历史告诉我们穷则独善其身，达则兼济天下我还是认为这些名气和社会关注带给我的机会，是命运有意为之，是命运让我去做正确事情的，而不是我自己谋利。

总得有个原因吧，我长的不好看，又不高，也不帅，为什么是我？一定有原因，为什么命运会选中我W: And finally,Yuhui.If you were to introduce yourself to global audience,who may not be that familiar with you,In a few sentences,what would you say about yourself?
