just beat it是什么?just beat it的中文翻译!
The Catcher in the Rye
The Catcher in the Rye
1.If you really want to hear about it, the first thing youll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied
and all before they had me.(Chapter 1)and all
.如:Theyre nice and all--Im not saying that--but theyre also touchy as hell.I mean thats all I told D.B. about, and hes my brother and all.
2. It killed me. Now hes out in Hollywood..(Chapter 1)简直要了我的命这会儿他进了好莱坞It killed me字面意思是“它杀了我”,作为英语俚语,
3.So I got the ax. They give guys the ax quite frequently at Pencey.
(Chapter 1)Get the axe(ax)”是一个形象化的说法,其字面意思是:获得了斧头,被砍掉了但其真正的意思是:遭到开除,被炒鱿鱼再如I cant believe it, my manager got the ax eat work today.。
4. The other reason I wasnt down at the game was because I was on my way to say good-by to old Spencer, my history teacher. He had the 。
grippe.
,所以the reason is because相当于the reason is for the reason that,犯了语义重复的毛病通常认为这是病句但事实上,很多英语作者确实会使用“the reason is because”。
5.They each had their own room and all. They were both around seventy years old, or even more than that. They。
got a bang out of things, though--in a half-assed way, of course. I know that sounds mean to say, but I dont mean it mean.
bang 是感叹号(the symbol !)的意思,get a bang 的表面意思就是“得到一个感叹号”,可引申为“感到开心,快乐”的意思,out of 在这里相当于 from,所以,get a bang out of
6.The minute I went in, I was sort of sorry I’d come.(Chapter 2)大家熟悉a sort of/a kind of是“种类”的意思,而老外在口语中常说的
This book is kind of/ sort of too complicated for me. 。
7.I mean he didnt hit the ceiling or anything. He just kept talking about Life being a game and all. Life is a game, boy. Life is a game that one plays according to the rules. 。
“hit the ceiling/roof”这句话不是“打到天花板/屋顶”hit the ceiling/roof。
8.What I did was, I pulled the old peak of my hunting hat around to the front, then pulled it way down over my eyes. That way, I couldnt see a goddam thing. "I think Im going blind," I said in this very hoarse voice. "。
Mother darling, everythings getting so dark in here.""Youre nuts. I swear to God," Ackley said."Mother darling
, give me your hand, Why wont you give me your hand?"(Chapter3)我当时干的,是把我的猎人帽鸭舌转到前面,然后把鸭舌拉下来遮住自己的眼睛这么一来,我就什么也看不见了。
Mother darling
9."I brush my teeth. Dont 。
gimme that."(Chapter3)“我怎么不刷牙别给我来这一套”gimme其实就是give me的意思,这一说法是仅限于口语和非正式的书面语所以gimme that其实就是give me that。
翻译过来就是“给我那个”Dont give me that. I dont give a damn/shit. Dont give me that look! 10. Listen. Are ya gonna write that composition for me?
3)gonna=goingto4)wanna=wantto5)gotta=havegot to6)kinda=kind7)how diya do?=how do you do?8)gonna=goingto
9)Cmon =Come on10)what are you= whachya11)waht did you= whadya12)what do you= what cha13)how did you= how dya
14)how do you= howdya15)her= er16)him= im17)his= is18)cause =because19)a lotta= a lot of;20)aint=am not- or - is not - or - are not- or - havenot- or - has not
( I aint hungry.)21)aintcha =. are you not(Aintcha hungry? )22)an = and(Get me some bread an milk.)23)gnight= good night
24)wuddayacallit= what you may callit - or -11.Ed Banky was the basketball coach at Pencey. Old Stradlater was
one of his pets, because he was the center on the team.
.one of his pets The teacher gave the hand of his daughter to one of his favourite pupils.。
12.He came over to my bed and started leaning over me and taking these playful as hell 。
socks at my shoulder. "Cut it out," I said. "Whered you go with her if you didnt go to New York?"(Chapter 6
Give him a sock on the jaw!
或者可以直接使用take a sock at sb.I feel like taking a sock at him. 13.This next part I dont remember so 。
hot. All I know is I got up from the bed, like I was going down to the can or something, and then I tried to
sock him, with all my might, right smack in the toothbrush, so it would split his goddam throat open. Only, I missed.
Do you mind telling me wheres the can?
14.What hed do was, hed start snowing his date in this very quiet, sincere voice.(Chapter 7
15.Anyway, even though I was pretty loaded, I figured I could always use a few extra bucks. 。
I figured that we could make both ends meet this month. 。
我盘算了一下,这个月的收支相抵此外I suppose/figure/assume/feel/perceive/reckon等都可以作为I think高级替换词16.I started toying with 。
the idea, while I kept standing there, of giving old Jane a buzz(Chapter 9)熟词生义:toy with玩弄;调情;随随便便地对待。
I’ll give you a buzz this evening. 17. She was a funny girl, old Jane. I wouldnt exactly describe her as strictly beautiful. She。
knocked me out, though.(Chapter11)其实knock out的本意就是“敲掉”,引申为“击败;出局;使不省人事”The three drinks knocked him out. 3
The woman in the restaurant was a knockout. 18. I dont wantyou to get the idea she was a goddam icicle or something, just because we never 。
necked or horsed around much.(Chapter11)neck在这里是动词“搂着脖子亲吻”再如They sat talking and necking in the car for another ten minutes.。
Weve horsed around long enough. Its time to get to work. 。
19. It made me feel sad as hell--I dont know why exactly.(Chapter 13)as hell 等同于口语里常见的like hell,
Its all the same. Im bored as hell. 20. Im a very light eater. I really am. Thats why Im so damn skinny. 。
I couldn’t eat another thing/bite.
I could eat a horse. 21. I needed to keep some dough for the tickets and stuff. I was sorry anyway, though. Goddam money. It always ends up making you blue as hell.。
22.I kept trying to picture my mother or somebody, or my aunt, or Sally Hayess crazy mother, standing outside some department store and collecting dough for poor people in a beat-up old straw basket. It was hard to picture. 。
He pictured Claire sitting out in the car, waiting for him.。
23. And what made it worse, there were at least a couple of hundred rubbernecks that didnt have anything better to do than stand around and watch everybody falling all over themselves.。
Two cars smashed together and a cluster of rubbernecks gathered around.
24. “C’mon, let’s get outa here,” I said. “You give a royal pain in the ass, if you want to know the truth.”。
a pain in the neck”.The kids were a real pain in the ass. 24. He was in the war, too--he landed on D-Day and all--but I really think he hated the Army worse than the war.。
25.I figured that if I didnt bump smack into my parents and all Id be able to say hello to old Phoebe and then beat it and nobodyd even know Id been around.。
Just Beat It, Beat It 其实就是。
26.Every time Im in the park, he follows me everywhere. Hes always following me. He gets on my nerves.
(Chapter 21)Dont get on my nerves! Youre getting on my nerves. Get on my nerves
27."Cut it out, now," I said. "Nobodys gonna kill me. Nobodys gonna even--Cmon, Phoeb, take that goddam thing off your head. Nobodys gonna kill me." 。
(Chapter 22)Cut it out停止(做某事),住手,省省吧;住嘴例句:I cut it out and pinned it to my studio wall.
Would you cut it out, already?你到底有完没完?28.I was too yellow not to join.
He is too yellow to stand up and fight.
The blue film was banned by the censor. I was absolutely green (with envy) when Isaw his splendid new car.。
所以西方社会用来逗牛在我国,红色是火,是吉庆、热情的象征,但在英语国家的人眼中红色则意味着流血、危险或暴力例如:血战a red battle29.When she said something, all she said was, "Daddys going to kill you."
"I dont give a damn if he does," I said.(Chapter 22)I dont give a damn!
I dont give a damn! I dont give a damn whether you come or not!30.Boy, my heart was beating like a bastard. 。
Oh, boy!" shouted John." Dinner smells great! When do we eat?"。
Boy, I used to know exactly where they were, but I hadnt been in that museum in years. 。
(Chapter 25)31.How come you two guys arent in school?" I said.(Chapter 25)How Come 后面可以接句子,也可以不接How come? “。
例如, "Why is our oven broken?" 换成 how come 的话, 要说成, "How come our oven is broken?"
